Hayes and Yeading United appoint Nas Bashir as manager
Hayes and Yeading United have appointed Nas Bashir, the first British Asian to earn the UEFA A Pro Licence, as their new manager.
Nas, a former player and coach at Reading, replaces Garry Haylock, who left the club by mutual consent at the end of May having led them to 16th in Blue Square Bet Premier last season.
Nas follows Anwar Uddin, who was assistant manager at Barnet on a temporary basis last season, as another young aspiring British Asian looking to break into professional coaching.
Nas, who has also coached at Wycombe Wanderers and England Under-21s and Under-19s, said: “It’s a great chance for me to build upon my reputation and be part of developing a club.”
A club statement read: “As one of the brightest young coaches in the national game, the club hope Bashir’s appointment sends out a message of intention to the football world that Hayes and Yeading United Football Club continue to build and work towards their goal of becoming a Football League club.”
