Braehead Arena chosen for Davis Cup by BNP Paribas tie

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has today announced that the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas tie against Luxembourg will take place in Scotland at the Braehead Arena.



The tie will take place from July 8-10 2011.


Leon Smith, captain of the AEGON GB Davis Cup team, said: Weve seen before that Braehead is a great venue for Davis Cup tennis. I know well get fantastic support, and Im confident that a hard court surface will suit our players well as we look to take another step towards promotion.


News that the Davis Cup is returning to Scotland was welcomed by British number one, Andy Murray:


It makes such a difference to have a sell out crowd behind you in these matches.  I know the team will get great support and thats what Davis Cup tennis is all about.  Im looking forward to the tie and helping the team.
